Who We Are

MCRF's  mission is "To Facilitate and Promote Recreation in the Mahaska Community." Our vision is  to encourage community unison by creating  opportunities that allow all youth to participate in recreation. We have recently added initiatives to service or partner with multi-generational recreational activities along the community trail as well. Our programs and facilities serve all of the Mahaska community, even reaching out beyond county borders, with local community members and visitors participating in these recreational activities.

What We Do

Mahaska Community Recreation Foundation (MCRF) is a 501(c)3 organization formed in the fall of 1998. MCRF is made up of a 15-member Executive Board and includes 5 appointed and 10 elected, at-large board members. Membership to MCRF is open to all recreation affiliated groups and free of membership fees.  At least an annual meeting is held for membership in which all recreational leaders are invited. Quarterly executive board meetings are held. MCRF has a paid full-time staff of three. Part-time paid staff are added on a seasonal basis and volunteers are used throughout the year for programs, projects, events and leadership.
