The Stephen Memorial Animal Shelter is looking for volunteers to help out with our annual Gourmet Double Chocolate Caramel Apple fundraiser. Specifically, we are needing volunteers to help us make these delicious treats so we can have them ready for distribution by February 11, 2013.
Our caramel apples are made from scratch, so volunteers can expect to be pounding sticks into the apples, coating the apples with caramel and chocolate. Drizzling white chocolate on the apples, wrapping the apples in cellophane, tying ribbons, etc... this is a good chance to show off your confectionary skills!
We will be making the apples at the SHARE Iowa building starting Thursday, February 6th until Saturday, Februray 8th from 9:00am- 5:00pm. Days will be separated into 3 hour shifts. We ask that volunteers be available for at least 3 hours on one of these days. Lunch will be provided Thursday the 6th and Friday the 7th.
